I am a drawer and painter primarily working in narrative realism with making art my way of processing my experience as a human being in the world. I am moved by the beauty in the ordinary, simple glimpses in time of lives being lived, always remembering that the things that connect us are far more important than the things that separate us. 

Through figurative painting, portraiture and still lifes, I seek to depict the everyday stories - past, present and future - that unite all of Humanity. I’m infatuated with our weird and precious little existence on this planet we call Earth. Connected, overlapping, back and forth. Birth. Life. Mamas. Papas. Eat. Sleep. Play. Fight. Love. War. Love. Death. The same old story throughout all of time. Each of us exactly the same, yet uniquely different in how and where we move through the world.

Using oils, acrylics, drawing media and collage, I work from vintage photos, glimpses in time I capture as I move through the world and images collected from my traveling cohorts. My paintings evolve over time, beginning with the primary subject of the composition worked out. I then build the painting with a give and take process of layering, leaving bits and pieces showing through on the finished work.

 It is my hope that the art I make connects with others as we find our way together on this little blue ball spinning in space. Though we are but a blip in Time, we must see and feel our collective Humanity and use our Blip well.
